This Florida beach wedding was such a blast to photograph in Amelia Island. Hanna and Tyler were down for all of my ideas and truly brought so much adventure and fun to their wedding day in North Florida! It’s such a heartwarming feeling when clients become friends, these two made me feel so loved and part of the group the entire day. I signed their marriage certificate as a witness and I felt so honored. I was shaking while I was signing the certificate because wow, this is literally such a dream job for me. This was something I had never done before in my job, but is literally the whole reason and meaning behind the day.
We also drove down a year prior to Amelia Island to do their engagement session which was such a fun, spontaneous adventure! Here a few gems from their beach engagement gallery !
Hanna and Tyler as a true party and their wedding day was no exception. I remember I was moving my sons car seat and beach toys around in my car so that Hanna could ride with me on the way to the wedding venue. I had my favorite second shooter, my hubby, drive us while we jammed out and made boomerangs on the way to the ceremony. If you ask me, that is the energy you NEED before you walk down the aisle!
At the beach wedding ceremony, it was filled with gorgeous blue skies and the most stunning cross as the centerpiece of not only their ceremony but their lives and soon to be marriage. They got married above the sand and the beach, breath taking to say the least. It was such a classy and elegant wedding filled with little touches of bohemian decor.
Once we got to Ocean Club of Amelia Hanna had her Michelob in hand at the bar , checking herself in the mirror, and staring out onto the ceremony site.
This blog post wouldn’t be complete without telling Hanna and Tyler’s love story. Here is a little excerpt that will make your heart melt.
“I never put much thought into “love at first sight” (especially at 15), but that’s what happened for Tyler and me. Freshman year of high school biology became my favorite class and I quickly found out why. I felt I had known him for my entire life; he felt like home, like peace. He was what I would look forward to every day. We encouraged and supported each other, made time for one another in any way we could, and watched each other grow.
November 25, 2020 is the day he asked me to marry him. I had always known we would be each others futures. My home, my person, my best friend would be mine for a lifetime and then some. Coming upon one year of marriage and 9 years together, we are still learning. But that, to me, is the beauty of love – to never stop dating, learning, encouraging, supporting, and embracing the highs and the lows. The Lord has blessed us in so many ways throughout our journey and I cannot wait to see what he has planned in the years to come. ” – Mrs. Sheley
“Ah, where to begin. I say that because, in the all the hours of photography we had, I can’t possibly express in words how much more we got than just photos. The planning portion was the easy part. And by easy, I mean the last thing I had to worry about was photography. Summer called a few weeks before to nail down the times, etc. She listened to my input and added in her own valuable suggestions. Summer is so experienced and passionate, that any idea you have, she knows exactly how to make it happen.
She is not the kind of photographer that points a camera at you and tells you to pose – to move this way or that way. Summer sets you up, then lets the magic happen. The reason I was so drawn to her photography is because of this. I wanted my photos to capture the laughs, the silly moments, and alllll the emotions. Whether we were taking photos in the palms, on the beach, or on the dance floor, Summer never batted an eye. If we were game, she was game.
Summer went so beyond what I could have imagined. When it came time for our officiant to sign out marriage license, I noticed the box for a witness. I looked up, saw Summer, and didn’t think twice. After all she did for us, she was the one I wanted on our marriage license. And once again, she didn’t bat an eye. Summer is so much more than a photographer to us. The photos are one of the biggest parts of a wedding –something you can look at time and time again to smile and reminisce.” – Hanna + Tyler
